Day 57 and we have gotten four appearances and now a few speeches. Wonderful, what more do we need in the Gulf Coast? How about some action! Maybe the president should have started by lifting the Jones Act and taking a few of the many offers he got from other countries.
By day three the Dutch offered to lend us skimmers to help get thousands of tons of oil out of the water. The British did the same. Maine has plenty of supplies to help clean up the oil. Had he taken these opportunities when they were presented, we would not be in as dire of a situation as we are now.
The next thing I would like to discuss is this idea that President Obama "inherited" this oil spill or anything else. First of all, GET OVER IT! It does us no good to hear our president blame someone else. And at this point, it doesn't matter. Second of all, he did not inherit this oil spill, at least not from Bush. Maybe you could blame the environmentalists who wouldn't let us drill off shore.
Now you may be saying, "Conservative, are you crazy? If this oil spill had happened closer to shore it would be that much worse and would have reached the shore that much quicker!" And to that I say, you could not be more wrong.
If we had been able to drill closer to shore we would have had this hole plugged much earlier. Mostly because people would have better access and it would have been much easier to stop this spill before it became this huge catastrophe.
Here's a thought, maybe instead of pushing an agenda and blaming someone else the president could take some bad bad choices and change them around a bit. Ask for help. Bring people together. Get the hole plugged and start being a leader.
