This summer I decided to gain extra confidence in my argumentative abilities. I figured the best way to do that is to read up on subjects that I'm not as familiar with as I would like to be. I figured one great way to beef up on my knowledge would be to pick up some books. So I'll be reviewing these books to let you know if they are worth while for you to read, if you take my opinion as valuable.
The first book I read was Heroes Among Us. This book was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to hear a service man's point of view on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a collection of stories gathered from men who earned medals for their courageous efforts in theWar on Terror. The men who tell them are humble and as a reader you can tell that they really are true heroes, although they would not agree. To them, the true heroes are the ones who died in the fight and the people who they fought beside.
Please take a chance to read this book. I'm so glad I got the chance to hear their stories. It made me really appreciate and understand what is going on in the Middle East. So for anyone who wants to gain that appreciation Heroes Among Us is a great selection.
