Clarence Thomas' life is nothing but incredible. In his autobiography My Grandfather's Son, he tells his rags to riches story. But this is the kind of rags to riches that I really enjoy reading about. Not only because it is real, but because it was not given to him, he earned it.
This book was interesting, thought provoking and moving. Justice Thomas lived a life full of obstacles, but he overcame each of them. From poverty, to his own radical liberal thinking, to his difficult confirmation hearing, he pulled through. Serving on the Supreme court as a black conservative, he showed me that anything is possible if you do what is right and work hard at it.
Those were the values that Thomas' grandfather thought him. The values which he lives by. Thomas offers insight on many issues that are relevant right now. And each page had something of value in it.
I highly recommended this book. It was well worth my time. And if you enjoy reading about someone who beats odds stacked against them, then it'll be worth yours too.
