I don't know about everyone else but I find attack ads truly annoying. In general, I would like to know what one political candidate believes, rather than what terrible things that their opponent has done.
This is one thing that the Republican party has disappointed me with. It's a problem on both sides of the political spectrum. But it does drive me crazy. What makes it worse is that it works.
Negative political ads really do work, especially if you start the attack first. It's easy to see this mid term election as the anti incumbent mood heightens. In Florida, Rick Scott started the attack early and often. He shattered McCollum with his ads and ultimately defeated him.
Personally, I find it aggravating because I wish these people would just tell me what they believe and let me decide if they are worthy of my vote. Instead, they just tell me why I shouldn't vote for their opponent. It's possibly one of the most frustrating things that goes on in media.
Dems better be ready though, because if the Republicans tear each other up in the primaries, it's only going to get worse. The attack ads are going to increase. I don't like it, but it's just the truth. It'll be interesting to see what both parties come up with. Because if the primaries were any indication, this is going to be a hunting season in the political world.
